Established in 1992, the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) at Alpha House is a non-profit organization that shelters and provides support to homeless and at-risk families.

On Sept. 22, the IHN at Alpha House is hosting its annual “Driving Home” Food Truck benefit for its short-term shelter service.

Funds raised during the food truck event will help provide families with the resources and support they need in the process of securing long-term housing.

Since Washtenaw County’s Human Services Partnership will no longer provide for Alpha House, officials have reported that this year’s benefit is more important than ever.

The food truck event will take place from 4-7 p.m. at the Alpha House (4290 Jackson Rd.)and will feature meals from local food trucks such as Hallboy BBQ, Bao Boys, and PizzaPazza

The event will include limited on-site seating and the option to tour the Alpha House. Meal orders must be placed by Sept. 10 on the Alpha House’s website, and cost $35 each.
